I had a removable tow bar fitted to my V40, the problem was that some bugger removed the swan necked tow ball one night.

When I contacted the manufacturers they refused to supply the swan neck on its own because it is allegedly against EU legislation to do so. But they did offer to sell me a complete towbar

In the end I picked up a similar swan neck from a breakers, and ended up redrilling it, and adding shims to make it fit the existing bracket.

We're in the process of swapping the towbar over from my bro's 110 to his 2.2.

Has anyone managed to remove the cage nuts and transfer them successfully to another car? (They look a lot easier to fit than remove).

Failing that, don't suppose anyone has 4 of these cage nuts, or a definite source at sensible money?

They should just push forward and drop out.....

I'll have a crack at mine later - it is possible to fit the towbar without removing the back-box but a bit fiddlier.

Panic over. The trailer sales & hire place up the road has just rung to say they've arrived......

(I did ask him to let me know last Tuesday if he could get them and if so how much).
Heard nowt up to today, so assumed that was a no.
How much?
£3 each.
Worth it to get to the end of this little escapade, I suppose.

That's a good price Doggy, when I was removing mine for the car in the breakers I didn't realise that the fittings were not in place from the factory :x .
Cue much cursing when I came to fit it to mine two weeks later after refurbing it :frown: , I tryed every where to get these blasted things, Peugeot main dealers,
The tow bar manufactures ect ect.
In the end I made my own  , trust me £12 for four was a bleeding bargin

Oh & a belated Happy New Year to all forum members.

Sorry mate, I only just spotted this  I guess it's a bit late now (well done for sorting it) but they were under accessories/transport solutions but I can't find them now either :frown: .
