At least the parts don't come in little bags with "Ford" written all over them :P I was thinking of saving that pic for the four sail ad when I'm finally allowed to ditch it, although I suspect I'll be in my grave before that happens.

What you can't tell from that picture is I reversed it in there waiting for the crunch of the tailboard as it hit the snow, forgetting that the (fragile, plastic) spare wheel cover sticks out a further couple of inches.

Have you got the silly door restriction strap thing that the UK models had? the tailgate wasn't "allowed" to open fully because the spare wheel would obstruct the rear light lens

Hey what's wrong with Ford parts? at least they're cheap....oh hang on :?

Nah, the door opens properly, all the ones I looked at did so either central yurup didn't have that particular bit of stupidity or the mod was well known about here.

While I'm thinking about it (and to stop myself making more derogatory remarks about your Volvo) while clearing the snow off it yesterday I noticed the exhaust from the yoyo is starting to smell like petrol again, so I reckon the so-called indestructible metal sports cat is on it's way and, whilst banging up and down all the patches of compressed snow, it's started making some ominous-sounding creaking noises from under the driver's seat, is that coming from the seat, from the door or from the chassis? And finally, I went to see my mate again today to find the snow plough had crammed a heap of crud at the end of his driveway, I tried to reverse over it, the first time normally, wheel starts spinning (so much for traction control), second time a bit harder, wheels spins again, 3rd time drive across the road and reverse back on full throttle, car bounces up in the air, lands and immediately slides sideways almost hitting his gate post. So I just left it there. When I got out there was the distinct smell of burning, hmm...

The second one is a hilux so not really that big. At least you wouldn't have to shovel the mound of snow off the end of your drive.

Not my drive, I can be asked to clear that off. I wouldn't have to bother if I drove a T34 either, which is just as likely as a Hilux.

Well at least at t34 would ensure that other drivers would be marginally more courteous to you.
Your wife sounds like she has alot in common with mine....

Er, no. White sh*t fall from sky... Only about an inch and it seems to be easing up (he said, expecting the worst to happen before morning)
