Hi.
I've fitted an after market stereo, as the original one was having issues with cds. now every time it open doors it comes on, and it will stay on for a while after ignition goes off (same amount of time as windows will work for)
When it goes off then I turn it back in it as not lost the pre-sets, but it has lost all of the settings, and the last station I had it on. SO where is the best place to take a live from? Normally I run a wire to the battery though the side door and under the carpet passenger side, But I want to try a better way of doing this.
Thanks
Stu

Re: Best wire for Perm + for radio?
There are both permanent and ignition +ve's on the original ISO power connector. Unfortunately I can't access the diagrams during the day, but perhaps some kind soul will oblige?

Sounds like the permanent and switched live need switching, normally with the aftermarket head units (basing this of Sony/Kenwood/Pioneer i've had in the past) they have an adapter cable coming from the head unit into the ISO cable from the car, usually there is a yellow and a red cable which have bullet connectors in so you can cross them over to switch the permanent and the live when you have issues like this.
