I have a non-starter. 2.2 HDi.
The car started sounding like the battery was missing a beat about a week ago- hesitant to engage stater motor, particularly when cold. Yesterday at my Mums it sounded like it was on its last legs, I was amazed it started to be honest. Unfortunately when i got home (from Mums- some 15 miles) I turned the car off outside our house in order to unlock the back door (of the house)- when I got back in to move the car to where i park it it wouldn't turn over, the starter motor limped a bit, then nothing. Dash lights were still on, interior lights and heaters, windows etc were still working. Anyway, I was now blocking the road, and a bloke turned up in a tiny fiat wanting to get through.
Bother.
He kindly offered to jump it- we connected it up, no joy- in fact things were now worse- 'entering power saving mode' had appeared. I ignored this warning- presuming it was actually trying to conserve power in order to start (more fool me).
He and I tried to push the car to where I park it (literally 150 yards away) but it's a big bird, and it got stuck on the corner where there is a slight up hill. He abandoned me at this point muttering about his wife and it going dark, and all sorts of helpful things. I ran to our friendly local mechanic round the corner and he gave me a jump pack- 'this'll get it going', he said. So, black to black, red to red, away we (don't) go.

Mechanic then came with his Vitara and he and I had a merry few minutes dragging my nice car around trying to get it out of the way and parked, unfortunately it did roll into a wall when i was in control of the brake (it was dark, wet, slippery, car had no lights, I must have pressed the accelerator and not the brake etc etc). There is now a ding on the rear bumper

Anyway i got it a new battery today and removed the old one. I am quite ashamed to say i didn't check any procedures before and just removed the old one and replaced it with the new one. We are now in power saver mode- no interior lights working, windows won't work, car won't start, 'entering power saver mode' displayed on the dash on ignition.
I tried a soft BSI reset after reading some threads- but I can't open the windows, so I don't think it has worked. Have i screwed it up? I am about to go and disconnect the battery- and will probably leave it disconnected until the morning. I have just the one key- and the fob doesn't work.
The car is a 2003 2.2HDi- defapped and remapped with Doggies magic file.
Surely I can still reset the system somehow? Will disconnecting the battery over night help? I could do with getting the windows to open to do the BSI reset procedure properly.
Any advice appreciated! I need the car this weekend really! It was a bit of a squeeze in the wife's 205 today (we have 3 kids....)
