406sw 110HDi 2004 - For Sale Soon

Hi Guys,

Will be selling our 406sw 110HDi very soon. 223,000 miles. 2004 registered, 53 plate vehicle. MOT Till 2nd October 2015.

Previous owner used for Taxi service to airports, very well maintained. Lots of receipts and service history.

Known faults as follows:
Power Steering - Pump or Rack issue. Unsure which, but steering heavy occasionally.
Air bag light on. Diagnosed by Peugeot as air bag Ecu.
Fuel gauge and Rev counter not working - replacement instrument cluster already purchased, never fitted.
Front tracking needed - two recent new tyres fitted
Driver seat sponge collapsing.
Needs a service

During the two years we have owned the car we have replaced both strut top bearings, passenger side front coil spring, drivers side bottom ball joint, front and rear brake discs and pads, parking brake cables and brake shoes.

FWIW the Airbag Fault is normally due to a bad connector under the seat (I think it's a Red 2-pin plastic connector) you can either plug/unplug it like a mad man for a few mins or carefully bend the Male pins with something plastic to afford a better connection in the Female plug and that normally does the trick. Mentioning that it might need an Airbag ECU is likely to put off buyers I think.

I appreciate what you say and I'm not being funny or anything but that wouldn't be the first main dealer to condemn an ECU when really it was the wiring at fault, they see it as a 'communication error' err, yeah that's cos the wires aren't connecting elsewhere.

Good luck with the sale anyway I hope someone buys it without too much more fuss.

When I say Peugeot, I suppose it would be clearer of me to say it was the guys at their Tech Centre at Coventry. I used to work in their training academy next door.

They think the ECU has had a fluid spilt over it at some point, as its directly below the cup holder.

All wiring in tact, diagbox says ECU is not communicating.
