D8 V6 Coupe electrical problem ,relay?, key barrel?

hello all

problem:

when I turn on car, autoheadlights isnt working.. headlights does not turn on like they used too.

I could live with this, because they work fin when switched on with the stalk.. however: when I turn key off to switch off engine, it keeps running... and only turns off if I turn the headlights
off with the stalk...

I have looked at the various relays under the steering wheel, pulling them out without noticing any changes..

right now Im trying to disassemble the key barrel to look at the plastic bit stuck to the back of it. But its proving difficult since my version does not have any screws, only a bracket of some sorts..

anyway does anybody have some suggestions to this "wont turn engine off" problem ? ..

I didn't think D8s got auto headlamps, maybe it's a coupe thing? What's your RPO?

Not being able to turn the engine off is often the ignition switch but, together with the lighting switch I'm thinking relay/ecu too. I've no D8 wiring diagrams to speak of but I'd like to confirm it is a D8...

Before this problem ,the headlight did turn on when starting the engine.. its the law here since the nineties i think...

anyway, as stated before: when I switch on lights with stalk and then remove key, engine keeps running.. if I then turn the lights off with stalk the engine cuts out, but in a split second before the engine shuts off, the lights turns on...

Ah, and you're in Holland apparently. I definitely don't have a wiring diagram for such a car, but as it's a D8 it won't have a BSI so you should head straight for the control box that turns the lights on with the engine (wherever that is...)

Just checking Service Box, maybe it's this "daylight running lights" relay? But that's meant to be among those by the interior fuse panel, and you already pulled all of them
