I'm sorry to say I saw this thread come up again and I though "oh no, what's happened to it now."

Bad luck Dai, your cars must be jinxed :(

So she parks out of everyone's way and still someone parks right next to her? I bloody hate that, why do people do it? all huddle together for warmth or something :roll:

I reckon cost-wise it's got to be at least £550.00?

Wellymatics and assuming full-hour charging only:

Labour remove and refit bumber [sic] = 1 x 60.00
Labour flat back old* paint = 1 x 60.00
Labour fill and sand damaged area = 1 x 60.00
Labour prime and paint repaired sections 2 x 60.00
Labour stand back and admire efforts, text girlfriend, and talk about the FA Cup to Apprentice.

Materials (paint) = 150.00
Sundries = 35.00

Sub Total = 485.00
Vodka & Tonic = 97.00
Total = 582.00

Although I could be wrong.

Sorry guys, completely forgot to update you!

The cost was actually £365 + VAT, £438. So you weren't that far off Welters. Still very expensive for what it was though!

Anyway, the bump happened on the Thursday, the bloke immediately agreed to pay up. We phoned him and told him the quote and he asked if we wanted the money up front, we said we'd get it done first. Car went in on the following Monday and we had it back on the Tuesday. The work is excellent, can't complain (although it does need a wash now :oops: )!

Took a copy of the invoice up to see the bloke and he gave stumped up the readies.

I'd still rather it never happened but all in all that was incredibly painless :D

That's a fair outcome all round then, can't help thinking it would've been cheaper through the guy's insurance with the excess likely to be £250.00 or less but then his policy might get hammered next year?

Are you going to 'do a Bailes' on the quality of the paint finish :cheesy:

It's really good, in fact (apart from a few small areas) there's less orange peel on the newly painted bits than there is on the rest of the car. Perhaps the whole car needs doing... :supafrisk:

That'll be due to Fords 'eco friendly' paint process? water-based shiz?? the Shodybop have probably done their bit properly.
