seems at odds with:

You can only drive an untaxed vehicle on a public road if you’re driving it to or from a licensed station for a pre-arranged MOT, vehicle identity check, or weight or emissions test.

One regards TAX the other is MOT you needs both. In case 1 the MOT is still valid, in case 2 it is still un-taxed.

Auto...i think.. there have been plenty scare storys about diesel autos being unreliable and complicated.. add more pics. people want detail to save asking silly questions... try classified in gumtree,friday ad etc preloved as they are all free.
but its also a pretty rare car being diesel auto and someone out there is looking for one and needs to find yours, so make it easier for them with more ads with lots and lots of photos. to sell a cheap car you must make the buyer feel comfortable they are handing over cash they have just spent the last 2-4weeks earning

not any kind of criticism just friendly advice that may be way off.

The cars looks really nice in the pics but you do need more to show it off; boot open, rear legroom, engine bay, that kinda thing. Also I'd lose the "only thing to note" comment and just say "there's a small dent on rear quarter but no paint loss" and maybe a pic of it.

I thought I heard rumblings elsewhere that Autotrader is quite costly verses ebay and with disproportionate success in actually selling a car. Or something.

always ebay for a classified.about £15 and thousands of views. plenty timewasters thats why i use classified on ebay.. people want plenty hi res pics. its just the nature of sellig anything nowdays i think.

Added more pictures will take 800 for a car that has a years mot very recent full service 4 when tracking and new tyres

the original link is now dead.. you need mass exposure. there are thousands of 406 for sale.. but not many in cream cloth with auto.(from memory) thats the selling point aswell as the downpoint as far as mass market appeal is concerned but there WILL be someone looking for an auto in cream cloth. youre on the mney at 800 andi dont think lowering the price will help..

use ebay with lots of huge definaition pics. otherwise youll limit the audience and end up selling it to a mate for £400. if you cant use ebay try preloved or gumtree etc. im sure an hrs worth of time doing ads will save you giving it away at a sillyprice

looked at the ad again and its a lot better than most. id come to look at it based on that description.
i would serosly be tepmted but not for at least 4 weeks till hols paid for.. maybe describe the drive like no bumps or knocks as 406 are reowned for drop links etc. does the box change smoothly , when was the gearbox oil changed? a little emotive description goes a long way to paint a picture in a buyers mind
