Re: 407 stalks
Yes,the stalks are interchanable, although they have slightly different part numbers.Cruise control working with my 406 stalk fitted(although on the 407 it only works over 51 mph)I stopped half way through my test drive and refitted the 407 stalk, and the cruise/limiter did not work.

There is a minimum speed (I can't remember what it is), and you have to be in at least 4th gear.

Re: 407 stalks
Should be 30 mph / 50 kph of thereabouts. The gear ratio thing is calculated from road speed vs engine RPM.
Provided your revs are no more that you would have in 4th and you're going fast enough, (see above), it should engage - even in neutral which has the effect of testing your rev-limiter functionality, so BE CAREFUL!
Good result with the stalk.

Re: 407 stalks
In the hand book it says 30 mph and 4th gear.So maybe a rusult swapping the stalks, but due to it not working below 50 mph maybe another fault with it.Still,my dad and i are going halfs on a Lexia/pp2000/planet whatever you want to call it.WILL NOT be buying it from Hong Kong or China
.I shall post some links in the right places to ask for feedback or general help.as this forum is by far the friendlyest and most helpfull. And i still have a wealth of 406 knowledge

Re: 407 stalks
You can usually find an eBay ad featuring a UK address for a Lexia/Planet set up for around £75 these days.
(Or less than half what I paid for mine from China).
Pleased you're sticking around - there's precious few of us still with 406's, but it still 'feels like home'.

Yeah. I'm hoping that nobody will notice the odd '7' in place of a '6'Doggy wrote:Pleased you're sticking around - there's precious few of us still with 406's, but it still 'feels like home'.

Re: 407 stalks
Tbh I was not keen on a 407.was thinking of a loan and something newer, maybe a C5 estate.but when I saw the 407 as a classified and being a 2008 with the engine I wanted and the red leather I thought it was worth a punt.its the cheapest 2.2 I've seen.and at least I know a bit about psa cars.

Re: 407 stalks
The C5 estate is a sombre place with restricted visibility, an electric handbrake and posher ones have hydra-wotsit suspension, some have the twin-turbo 2.2HDi - I had a go in DiscoPol's one a few years back.
The C5 is nicer looking, (in my opinion), but the 407 is more practical. It's hard to justify anything other than the '7, they're such good value.
I like the look of the first generation 508 estate, but initially it was only available with a 1.6 engine* if you wanted a manual. There are a few 2.0 manual HDi's about developing 160-odd horses, but I really would prefer a 2.2 - the bog-standard Pug version reached 200bhp a few years ago.
I probably need to find one more diesel estate/intercontinental ballistic dog transporter to keep me going 'til I retire. I have yet to find something that ticks all the boxes.....
