hi i have "borrowed" this from another forum and was wondering if the wires are the same on a 406 also where i will find them/ the control box...
"I'm new to the forum but have been reading the various solutions to the problem of central locking unlocking itself all the time. My problem occurred on a 1998 306 DTurbo and having tried the various solutions with no success decided to delve a little deeper. As already mentioned elsewhere the central locking module is located behind the rear right seat and has 2 connector blocks. The connector we're interested in is the black one. As the wire colours seem to be quite random the key is to locate the correct ones by number. The two critical wires are 6291 and 6293 these need to be earthed when the doors are locked. If a break occurs in either one (usually in the door pillar) then the doors will unlock themselves. So the key is to join BOTH of these wires to a known good earth or to wire M620 on the same connector block which is also an earth. If you only connect one of them to earth or only join 6291 and 6293 together as has been suggested and you then get another break in the other wire the problem will re-occur. Finally wire 6290 which goes to pin 5 needs to be cut to remove the door open state earth signal. This now fools the system into thinking that both front doors are closed even if they are open.
Sorry if I haven't explained it very well but if anyone needs any more clarification I will try and help."
any one know anything about this working on a 406 maybe??
any help/info greatly appreciated
Mick

thanks for that Benner was starting to think i had been sent to coventry, lol.
i found the box , and...... mai oui it works, the doors have stopped auto unlocking when you press the button,
so if one of the mods wishes to make a how to out of it then fair enough.
Unfotunatly my drivers door actuator or something must be paggered as it dont lock with the button
Still it wasnt all for nothing as hopefully someone else's problem will be solved and i will have contributed to the site and maybe people will offer help in return????
