Hi guys,
My ignition key transponder shroud (the thing that reads the small chip inside the key...whatever its name is!) has started to work intermittently, and am looking at getting a replacement. Question is, are they a standard item across the range? I've been looking at this one:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-406-1 ... 3cca92d68f
But it's from a petrol model, and from Dec '99 so will it fit my '01 semi-mux HDi?
Thanks
Ben

Ben,
One of the guys at work changed the ignition barrel on a 307 with one from a breaker and ended up having to fit the transponder ring as well to get it to start, whether you could reprogramme with Planet or not I'm not sure.
I doubt they'd fit different parts to petrol or diesel tho?

Re: Help please on a part!
I wouldn't have thought it would make any difference which fuel the engine runs on
They're different for D9s if they're semi- or full-mux, so that one would be ok if they're telling the truth about where it came from.
Part number 963248788? You'd have thought breakers on ebay would know better than to just pick a number off the part and quote it like it's going to mean anything

Re: Help please on a part!
Hi Ben, do you want the one off my donor car, if I can find it?
It works ( worked.. ) fine before I started to strip the car.

That's very kind of you! Was the donor car a semi-mux?GingerMagic wrote:Hi Ben, do you want the one off my donor car, if I can find it?

Oh, I didn't spot that - my donor is a 2004 exec.
Do you have a comms unit? If so I can send the ring anyway and see if it works - they are not coded to the car, its just a chip reader.

No comms for me luckily! Not to worry anyway, found one from a semi-mux 2.0 HDi 2001 on eBay so that should sort itGingerMagic wrote:Oh, I didn't spot that - my donor is a 2004 exec.
