I was paying £60 Electric and £40 gas and was building up a nice little pot for the winter but SSE decided we would be better off paying £20 Electric and £23 Gas without telling us and I've just received a final notice (and only notice) because our accounts are in debit. Bunch of tossers.

Similar problem with Southern Electric. Sent a bill, paid it, then they sent another bill wanting more within a week. Since they'd just had £100 I thought they can bloody well wait while I've been paid. But then after a week they sent a letter threatening bailiffs and pre-pay meters.
Our house ( 3 bed Victorian semi ) has gone up to £85 per month for gas and electric - I don't know the individual prices as its on a bit of paper in a 'safe place' somewhere.
So, there's me, Mrs Magic and 2 little Magics, Gas cooker and conventional boiler. Woodburner in the evenings like Doggy.
The TV is on way too much and we have an electric shower which can be pricy.
On the whole I don't think we pay too much - Scottish Power Dual Fuel tariff.

2003 2.2hdi estate - mine 1998 Volvo 940 auto estate - also mine 2019 Citroen C3 something - the wife's PP2000 user, can help with faults / diagnostics in the Bournemouth area.
I divided our house back into it's original 2 x 3-bed semi layout:
the half we live in costs £85/month for gas + electricity, ( I use a woodburner to run my heating in the evenings / gas boiler in the mornings).
the other half my daughter lives in is £144/month, (conventional combi-boiler).
Neither seems great, but it's a 1930's build - solid walls and suspended wooden floors downstairs.

300 year old detached three bedroom house, no cavity so no insulation. Don't have gas but electricity averages about £80.00 per month, quite a bit less in the summer but more in the winter as we have solar panels.
Our heating is done by a multifuel stove and oil fired Rayburn. Coal is about £30 per week in the very cold weather but we burn our own wood in spring and autumn. Oil at the moment is relatively cheap so have just filled my tank, 2.500 litres, but that will last about 2 years as we only use it when the stove is not alight.
Our best money saver is the conservatory we built about 4 years ago, if the sun is shining we don't need any heat on indoors. Its still getting up to 40C+ at the moment which gives about 23C in the downstairs living area.
We've got a 3 bed Semi dormer bungalow of 60s build with no insulation (except what I've added), and with an extra bedroom and a kitchen extension added on. Got a 1997 Combi boiler with 11 radiators and electric underfloor heating in the bathroom. We've also got 2 kids who have yet to understand the concept of an off switch.
I pay £92 per month for Electricity and £48 for Gas.

Have a look at that lads my mrs spotted this b gas loophole in one f those money saver e-mails... B gas won't tell you about this but it cuts your bills down a lot and you can also change to this tariff if your an existing customer.
