Thanks for you're offer Steve, but at the minute see below lol

Well I popped down to see if they had managed to do a diagnostic and the outcome was

we unplugged the pot and that seemed to fix it. We've ordered a second hand replacement and it'll be here end of the week.

My question to you guys is, does unplugging it make the sensor the problem?

I'll rephrase the question..

Would unplugging the sensor confirm the sensors faulty?
