BeWise Insurance BeWise To Avoid

Post by Bailes1992 »

So my Father just bought his company car in a job switch.
He hasn't had a proper insurance policy in 20+ years. Only the classic car policy in his Defender.

As he had no NCB quotes for his 320d were coming in at £700+.
We found insurance with BeWise for £390 and jumped at it.

For some reason they have his year of birth down as 1962 even though I've checked over what I filled in on moneysupermarket and indefinitely put down 1960.

I've also just had an email asking for proof on NCB. I actually said he had no NCB but because I also said he hasn't made a claim they ASSUMED he had 9+ years. :frown:

I can see arguments unfolding shortly.

I shall keep you up to date.

Most insurance co's accept a letter from your previous employer/insurer as proof of NCB i.e. "John drove company cars for us for 15 years without any claims".

I've done it before and gained 6 years NCB based on a letter, it's because the company hold the claims experience not the individual.

If you say you have had no accidents but you have been driving I would have thought that should have told the insurance company something but they don't seem to have much room for manoeuvre. Have you been on any of the price comparison sites? I use confused.com, have done since they started, always get a good deal. £130 for the 406.
