Weird Exclusive panel display

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Weird Exclusive panel display

Post by PeterN »

I went to have a look at a 'Y' reg exclusive estate today, no newer than my present one but a lot less miles, it has one or two weird faults, the most concerning one is that the instrument display is present without the ignition being turned on, you can get it to go off by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but once you turn the ignition on and off the displays stay on again. Any thoughts?

Thanks, Peter.

I had a customer's car with a similar problem...turned out to be the under carpet connectors full of water.

I have had water under the carpet problems with my existing one but a good dry out and cleaning cured it. I did feel the carpet but it didn't seem wet.
