Peugeot/Citroen Climate Control question

In the Shitrun C4 in Auto Climate mode; when I increase the cabin temp required I expect the fan speed to increase with it (to achieve the additional heating) but ours doesn't change the speed just the temperature changes coming from the vents.

Now I remember this a bit with the 406 and it seemed to work well heating without blasting you with loads of air. In fact in the 406 the only time the fan ran fast was in the summer to achieve faster cooling.

Does the operation I describe sound correct? I'm comparing to the way the Volvo works which runs the fan speed up as soon as you pick a higher temp.

Oh and this weekend I shall be fitting the new plastic gear mechanisms which have sheared off leaving the climate stuck in 'face vent' position (cold tootsies)

I'm sure someone asked this a couple of years back, I couldn't remember that time either However, it seems likely as it was already asked (or maybe I dreamed it?)

My Focus I can play with the temperature and the fan speed does not change.
Infact the fans do not even come on unless the engine is warmer than the interior and when the engine does start to warm it keeps the fans on recirc to try warm the interior quicker.
If I try to use the demist or high heat modes with the engine cold then a supplementary heater kicks in and gives me instant heat!

Don't know if it's relevant, but on later 406's the fan speed won't increase in auto until the water temp reaches 70 degrees.

I sometimes increase the fan speed manually or use the windscreen demist to get round it.
