Hmm, a 1.8 petrol LX estate. I could probably have resisted the temptation to pile up the miles for the hell of it too.

If you look at the passenger side you can see that the front wing has damage on the roll-in of the arch, the indicator repeater area is pushed in, the passenger door has a small but deep dent and the rear door has a very large dent down to the side impact bar.

Verdict: £450.00

On the plus side it looks fairly tidy otherwise

Agreed, 450 considering the damage and low spec, 1200 quid is la-la land.

Hey, I'm just posting them up! I'm not going to bother vetting them so there'll be some winners and some junk too. Anyway, the EW 1.8 puts out 115bhp so it's not actually that shabby...

Today ebay saw fit to send me 12 406's regardless of mileage, most of them were well over 100k only leaving 4 what I consider to be low milers, and the estates had already gone, leaving...

Not in the UK, to the best of my knowledge. LX felt spartan enough, being 2nd from bottom.

No front foglights
Manual rear windows
No headlamp washers
Manual cloth seats
No JBL amplifier (Clairon tape-deck head unit and Harman/Kardon speakers, no CD changer in the boot)
No sat nav

It did have the digital climate control and the rain sensors.

Later LXs had alloy wheels and all four windows motorized, but that was when the fully-mux D9 appeared.

The L, I guess, would be missing the digital climate control and rain sensors, but would in every other way be the same as the LX.

Imagine the poor sap that only qualified for a 1.6 petrol L-spec saloon as his company car...

What's S&B??

Shame to see the Kung Po Ling Hedgefinder Sport tyres on what is otherwise a nice genuine motor. And are those wheels standard?

S&B means silver and black, it's a limited edition that comes only with 2.2 petrol and Hdi engines. There is a few internal differences, such as the dash trim (black), the door handles (silver), half cloth/half leather interior etc.

Sorry, Silver & Black edition Coupes. They were 2.2 petrols and 2.2 HDis produced in the summer of 2002, only 400 in the UK in total. They are almost always on '02 plates, sometimes on '52 plates. Never seen one on a '53 plate before!

Those ("Nautilus") alloys were standard on those.
