Meanwhile, behind the façade of this innocent-looking book store...
I let Teatime out yesterday morning about 7 and he was gone most of the day. Level of worry - moderate. He came back briefly in the afternoon, I'd cut up some pig's livers for the animals and saved some for him so I presented it to him. He took one sniff of it, looked up at me with suspicion on his face and scarpered, through the balcony door across the garden, through the fence, across the road

What was that about? Level of worry - strong.
Then he came back about 7, "Teatime!" and he was off again, only stopped when he got to the now closed balcony door. I approached slowly with hand outstretched while he cowered with fear and... "No no no no, please don't kill me! Oh, tickles, that's ok." Stuffed full of pig's liver and boiled chicken he spent the night on my bed and he's been here ever since, cycling between the kitchen for more grub and snoozing on my bed and he shows no inclination to go out, despite the balcony door and cat flap being open. Weird.
Also, I've just been out and bought the tubing for the pantry. I worked out that the longest I could get in yoyo2 was 2.5 meters, this comes in 6 meter lengths. Umm... So I got the guy to cut them in half, 3x6m plus a half he had hanging about. I had to tie the back door of the yoyo shut but it's only from the high road.
21m x 20mm square tube, 40 x 4" screws and rawl plugs (it was that or 1.5") and I even bought plastic caps for the tubes, 32 of.
Total 27 quid.
Tbh this place I'm going to, while it has masses of metal and plumbing stuff, is a bit lacking on stuff like screws but I'd still prefer to give them my money than the other shop in town that does loads of screws and paint and such, purely because the guy I'm dealing with here actually speaks pretty good English and genuinely seems happy to see me, rather than the other place where I can see the look of "Oh no, it's the English guy again" on their faces every time I walk through the door.
