Electronical ignition fault

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Hi.
Try a BSI reset..there is a guide on that ..in the knowledge base.
Failing that you will be needing the key re coding to the car.

Hi.
What work was you doing on the car for you to take battery off?
Or was you just charging it?.

Have you tested the battery ...

Gremlins come out to play if battery is low on these..

Ah..not good.
Your 's'posed to do a ritual on them before removing battery...
Basically you let the Bsi go to sleep properly .. Or it can cause the BSi to carrupt.
*things to try'
Check all the fuses/relays in engine bay try pressing them to see if they're seated correctly.
If work has been done ...it might be a case of somethings been knocked and worked loose..

Don't forget to check the earthstrap that goes from gearbox to the ..car.
You can rule a iffy earth strap out by ' putting a jump lead on a good earth point on engine or gearbox and the other end
On negative post on battery...if the car starts the problem is Earth.

Be careful..swapping and changing battery's couid make things
Worse.
Have u or do you know any one with a multi-meter?
Or battery tester.. U can use.

Testing rather than swapping is much safer.

Hi.
Thought you'd already tried the inertia switch?.

Its worth checking just in case.

If it clicks when you first press it..its been triggerd.

How did you go on with the battery..did you test it?

yea, battery is good.how properly to use inertial switch? by the way, before that i had warning low brake fluid, while it was at max and sometimes driver windows doesnt go up at one push, you need a few times to push button to get window till top,i was thinking,we were testing windows jets, front headlights and front window, mayby water has 'traveled' were he should go and something got wet? gonna check under the carpet of driver side.

hi!
what has happened is that the vehicle has gone into theft mode. the guy with the pp2000 should go to the bsi functions. actually what is happening is the the key is not being recognized with the bsi, and the bsi will not send signal to the ECU to unlock, so dont even waist time to start the vehicle.

Thats so far the most logical explanatiom.i beleave i will need bsi code, how can i get it?
