Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

As I have recently managed to buy another key and get it programmed (good old ebay!) I thought that it was about time to stop entering my code on they keypad when starting up my car, and to change to it all working from the key.
Anyway after looking up the proceedure (using C1C etc) I have noticed that when I press C I dont get any beep or anything.
Can somone just check for me that it does beep when its pressed before I try and repair it? I'm sure they are all the same but just in case, mines a '96 406.
Cheers all.

If I can find my code, I'll check... but I bet there's going to be people here that actually took the time to memorise theirs...

Have noticed that my S doesn't beep either?
So it's either not meant to or I've got a cracked board.

Yeah I've heard that and apparently it does work.
I would still like to have an immobiliser though, so can someone just check to see if they beep.
If they don't, it could just be me being a goon.

That's what I thought
So I must have a cracked board, unless someone knows if a split wire in the loom could cause this problem?
I just want to use it with the key but I cant enter the C1C to stop it.
Thanks for the response Pyros!
