PP2000 key code issues
First i want to say thanks to the amazing people on this forum. Ive had so much help and advise and one very kind member has lent me his computer and PP2000.
Can someone please teach my how to sort the BSI out and get the key light out so i can use my car again!.
Im very computer savvy and expected to just see the menu to the functions. I see nothing at all about this key code function only ECU diagnostic stuff.
Please help asap if possible as my borrowed car goes back tomorrow and ill be 'grounded'
Thanks so much
Lee

Re: PP2000 key code issues
Start up Planet, connect to the car, and then choose PP2000 from the menu. Then choose "replacement parts" and then choose "Transponder key".
It will walk you through the process of programming the keys. Make sure you program all the keys not just one! You'll need the 4 digit PIN code.
Shout if you're still stuck!

Re: PP2000 key code issues
Ive just watched a video showing me how its done but the version of pp2000 in the vid is slightly different to the one I'm using here. Ive made my own judgement about how to get to the correct function and am getting an error saying the eco is not replying or words to that effect. I know it has connection because i experimented and cleared the engine codes successfully.
Any clues people ????

Re: PP2000 key code issues
At what stage of the process do you get the error?
The process tends to be slightly different for each car, you need the "Replacement parts" menu for a 406, whereas under some other cars it's under BSI configuration.
Can you talk to the BSI? (Read/clear its fault codes etc).

Re: PP2000 key code issues
Thanks for getting back to me
at 2.07m in the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhPgy4VM6IM is where i get to, then it cant read the ECU.
It can read error codes and clear them though...
Where on earth do i find the build code ? It asks for it when choosing vehicle at beginning of set up?
Any help will be received very very gratefully

Re: PP2000 key code issues
At the menu at 2.07 you should see a "replacement parts" option when attached to a 406. Is this so?
Can it read/clear error codes from the BSI specifically? (If you do "test by ECU" and then "BSI").
The build code will be on the door sticker on the A pillar. Look for a number like 09755U5 - 9755 is the build code.

Re: PP2000 key code issues
Ok im back at it.
Yes it does say replacement parts. When i go to test by ecu it does not mention BSI.
I decided to take a video of the whole process..
https://youtu.be/fE-d1HJM3k4
Every time it says the ecu has not replied
If i go to replacement parts it refuses to accept any choice of ecu

Re: PP2000 key code issues
Perhaps this matters too.
When i turn on the ignition, the in car screen tells me 'entering sleep mode' almost instantly. Is this preventing communication

Re: PP2000 key code issues
and...
i forgot to say that pp2000 is reading the eco in other functions. It can read and clear fault codes. I got it to identify the vehicles systems. But not a word about BSI or anything directly about keys. There is one menu called Transponder PEUGEOT that seems likely but that one will not see the ecu.

Re: PP2000 key code issues
You entered 4990 as the build code which is definitely incorrect! Can you take a picture of the door sticker and post it here?
Alternatively PM me your VIN number and I can look it up.
I believe this is causing some (all?) of the problems since PP2000 is looking for the wrong ECU type.
