PP2000 key code issues

Talk about the 406's electrical system, what wires do what, how to add extra functionality, etc.

Forgot to add, you need to get it out of economy mode. Disconnect the battery for a while (following the correct BSI shutdown/reboot procedure).

Leaving the battery off for 10 mins or so should mean it stays out of economy mode when you connect it back up, then attempt diagnostics using the correct build code.

Build code is 9523. Try diagnostics again using that :)

Remember to disconnect the battery first for 10 minutes to remove it from economy mode.

Morning Jon
Ive tried again today using the correct build code.
Following the 'Replacement Parts' menu's I've ended up in stalemate again. Im asked to choose which ecu from a list of 4 and i get an error whichever i choose. Pictures follow....

Just to check:

1. key in the ignition in the ON position during diagnostics?
2. car is NOT in economy mode.

Something is not right, since usually PP2000 will display the VIN from the vehicle in the left hand menu. If it's not doing so, I think it's not communicating with the car properly.

Perhaps you could do another video?

For what it's worth yours is 4HX (that's the 2.2 HDi engine code).

Cheers for reply
Not sure what economy mode is, ignition on. Ive walked away from it again and put the battery on charge.
Not sure if its relevant but the central locking does work on all the doors if i turn the key. Key fob buttons have never worked since i bought it. Its all taped up, but my understanding of it is that the electronics in the key are only relevant to button pressed central locking?

I really don't want to buy a new car lolol i really can't afford it :( :(

Is the battery disconnected whilst it charges? Leave it for an hour or so like that, then reconnect the battery and try again.

When you start up planet, turn on the ignition just before you hit enter on the build code.

You should get the "vehicle identification and configuration" screen and then the VIN should appear in the left menu (next to "406" and the build code).

Same as before.
I filmed it but i could just as easily explain.
Most important is that the VIN number etc is never harvested into PP.
So it appears there is another issue, well perhaps
Confused..

Yes I think something else is up. Worth checking power to the diagnostic socket. Think it might be fuse F4 or F10, but it's a 10A fuse so just check those.

Also, if you disconnect it from the car and try the procedure again, is everything exactly the same? This would confirm it not talking to the car.

Its the same always.
The thing is that it will read fault codes, clear them. Look into all sorts of other little bits and there was one menu i followed a few days ago that told me the ECU bas bosch and a serial number. Not sure how i got there but it didn't help any..
