Feeble AC

Post by marcus »

When I turn the AC to 14 celcius with it on Auto it should really blast out cold air,it certainly used to, however all I get is the equivalent to about the first setting on manual. It is cold but very feeble. The fan itself is fine and by turning it up manually it blasts out icy cold air but why not on Auto. Is there a fault with the sensor?

It depends how hot/cold the car is. When it thinks the ambient temperature is close to what you've got on the CC it'll drop the fan speed (unless you put it on manual or press the windscreen clear button)

according to peugeot the numbers on the display :ie 14 to 30 dont actually relate to temperature they relate to the comfort level(sounds like a big get-out to me)
has anyone else been told this :?:

10 minutes on auto with all vents going and a thermometer on the passenger seat will be within 1 degree of what's on my display... Sounds like a cop-out from some service guy who can't be arsed faffing with a climate control system ;)

I'm pretty sure the handbook makes the link quite clearly between the number and the temperature

The fans will not run at full speed unless it is over 21 deg C outside, mine does the same.

The CC looks at the outdoor temp, then the current cabin temp and your desired set point and if it can achieve the set point without blasting you then it will.

Same as in the winter, it doesn't blast you with heat does it? but it still works just fine.

well its been pretty warm recently...but maybe I'll wait til May....but I hope the cc has more idea about the outside temp than the temp. display cause that tells me to beware ice at about +5...theyre not linked are they
