I tried to remove the n/s door mirror glass today to replace the temperature sender but the conventional method of putting string behind the glass and pulling doesn't seem to work.
Looking in the book it says 'set the mirror to its highest point and release the clip at the bottom of the glass' what clip? I can't see one. I think I might have to take the complete mirror off the scrap one and fit it.
Can anyone help
Thanks
Peter

Pretty sure I simply pulled the mirror out until it unclipped - I think there are 4 clips, 1 in each corner.

Re: How to remove glass from door mirrors?
Hi Peter.
There are 2 teeny tiny silver pins that are at the bottom centre of the glass - these are really hard to see if you don't know what they look like, but removing the mirror makes it easier.
You need to push the 2 pins apart, as they are the open ends of a big round clip that goes around the mirror backing, opening them up widens the clip and releases the glass.

Re: How to remove glass from door mirrors?
Thanks Jack and Ginger
I could see the wire clip that retains the mirror, presumably the pins are the ends of the clip and if you lever them apart it opens it up.
I thought that was how it was held in so I'm glad I'm not loosing my marbles altogether. Having got the mirror part the way out it looks as though it has be broken and glued in so I will have to change the complete mirror over from the scrapper.
Pity I bought a new sensor now because the one in the other car is OK.
