Front roll bar drop links,,, who's?

Post by piglet »

Last pair didn't even do a year and they were not the cheapest available.

Any recomendations for durable value/money drop links.
PAS looking around 30 quid EACH!

Old: cheapo
New: contitech

The new ones lasted much longer, I wonder whether it is because of the bigger boot.

Last time I needed a front drop link, I went for a Delphi.

I found some on ebay which looked better than average and the were in stout cardboard boxes and had the allen screw holes in the ends of the ball joint studs, they weren't much dearer than the previous ones which also lasted a bout a year, they are still on the car now. The rubber boots fail and let the water in.

They're not OEM, but they are very good in my experience.

I happened to find a pair of genuine Pug track arms on eBay a while back, and Lemforder rear droplinks were fitted at the same time, and at present are still holding up just as well as the genuine Pug links.

My local garage fitted a front drop link 4 years ago, billed me £15 for the part. ( I try to steer clear
of jobs that look like a breaker bar will be needed). That drop link still going strong.

The Delphi drop link I mentioned in earlier post above cost me £10 on eBay.

£20 'ish quid for a drop link seems a lot.

I did say short term, the boy is back at college next week and can pop into ECP for a pair of Lemforders.
If I totally removed the anti-roll bar assembly would my MOT man even notice?
