Clutch 406 hdi 110 glx 2003 estate

Hi can any tell me what sort of clutch I need and what make of clutch as I have looked for parts on line they differ from 90 to 300 pounds not fitted.also how much should I pay laboure many thanx

You will need a LUK pull type clutch plus a dual mass flywheel.

The parts will probably cost about £130 for the clutch and about £300 for the dual mass flywheel.

Labour will be 5 or 6 hours at the local rate.

A rough guess...total £750 depending on local labour rates and vat.

I did mine earlier this year, I can confirm that the o.e clutch is LUK,
There's a seller on eBay at the moment parts2clear offering a complete kit with the DMF
For £303.95 including p&p.
I fitted mine myself, I've done a few clutches & this was far & away the hardest

I had a quote from my local independent at 8 hour's @ £50.00 per hour
So jaspers about spot on.

Still looking at £240.00 for the kit with the solid mass flywheel & same cost to fit,
The D.M.F's on 406 generally last really well with most doing over 150k on them.
Mine had done 107k + it's remapped to approximately 150bhp & I tow a fully laden caravan with a fully laden car

This made my clutch start to slip when attacking big Welsh hill's & my D.M.F had just started to rattle very slightly under hard loads.
So a no brainer to change it whilst doing the clutch, in fact I'd always replace both together due to the amount of work & time involved.
Peugeot fitted a D.M.F for a reason, to reduce the harshness of the diesel power delivery to the transmission & through the crankshaft
How many miles has your car done? , how many do you think you'll do in it after replacement & your only saving £64.00.

I wouldn't recommend converting to a solid flywheel - it'll be rattles galore
