idle Wild

Post by sollyboy »

Hi Pug Lovers
Still having problems with my Pug, Fixed my fuel leak by getting a new Fuel Rail at last , thinking this was why the engine was randomly idling to 2000 because of the a leaky Fuel Rail , because the pressure in the Fuel Rail was down , the ECU was compensating by idling higher ? With the leak fixed everything seem fine again, then start up and everything could be fine idlerling at 1000 pull away running fine then start to feeling the car rev high or to low when on the road ?. Can go for days with running normal then days when its a bitch , have to turn the engine off and start the engine up a gain until the engine idles at 1000. Still haven't had the car checked on the computer as its got the engine management light on still from the leaky Fuel Rail . If anyone could shine some light on what might be at fault would be of great help.
Cheers all the best Sollyboy

Could be the culprit of a lot of revving and bad idling issues. The Stepper motor.
Give it a good clean with carb cleaner and see what happens. Or simply get a new one.

My old Xantia did that for a while and it turned out to be the engine temp sensor.
The ecu thought the engine was cold so pumped in loads of fuel.

Cheers
