Re: Travelling in France and beyond beware
So UK owners will need to look up the Emissions for their car and apply for a 'Sticker' to display what Class of Emissions their car has between category 1 (best) and 6 (worst). If you fit into these category's then you can drive in 'key' cities like Paris.
If your car is unclassified you won't be allowed in these cities during the working day basically.
Last time I went to France the place was rammed with shonky old motors so good luck with that.
How long will it be before the UK follows their example

Re: Travelling in France and beyond beware
It's getting more commonplace. There were restrictions in effect in Munich a few years ago.
I've also noticed 2nd hand German vehicles have different coloured emission stickers too.

I don't think they've even got a colour to suit your car
You'd have to display one of those toxic warnings

When I was in France last year - was so surprised to see how many old bangers are still on the roads. Even seeing 405s was a bit of a novelty as they all have seemed to have disappeared (even here in Australia)...

In Germany, we indeed have emission class stickers on our cars (not only 2nd hand ones, every car needs them except Oldtimers on H(historical vehicale)-plates. They range from red (very bad) to yellow and green (allowed everywhere). Red and yellow are forbidden to enter most big cities nowadays. However, all 406 petrol engines receive a green sticker and Diesels with FAP system also have green (mostly), diesels without FAP are either red or yellow, so banned from most cities.
