Ive remembered how good the 406 is

Post by TooT »

Off late ive not given a sh*t about my 6 infact it looks rather sorry for itself, this is because its still not fixed from Mr Piss head driving into it.

Today tho it came into its own, i got up this morning drove to Bridlington from my house in North Yorkshire picked up my brother and headed off to somewhere in the sticks in Snowdonia. After 3 and half hours we where there as fresh as a daisy. We stopped for 30mins had a cuppa signed the paper work for the Clio my bro had won on fleabay and set off back home. With only one stop at a services near Wrexham for a slash and a lucozade that was the only break i had from driving, and now im back home after covering 451 miles i have no aches or pains. How good are these cars???

Only compaints are that its manage to gulp a whole tank of unleaded  . The best mpg i got was on the motorway and it was 26.9 now im back home it says 26.6. It always drops when i get back from a long trip out because i live a good hour away from the nearest motorway.

I think maybe next time could i borrow someones Hdi please??? :P

Yes, only if you give us your V6 for "insurance purposes" with a tank full of petrol. Mind you, 450 isn't bad at all for your engine!

Oh and yes, they are amazing cruisers... they just eat the miles with no hassle.

Toot, this happens to me too, it's only when you go far away that the 6 comes into it's own effortlessly eating up those miles.

So far, the longest distance driving I've done with my 6 is to Germany and back twice.
Each time, after 6 hours solid driving, I got out of the car not at all phased or stiff.

They should be fairly cheap off fleabay... Don't forget to fit the Welton panel while you're replacing that ;)

Wish I could have a Welton panel.

Mind you, I suppose there has to be 1 drawback to owning a D8 rather than a D9 :cheesy:

Do you know... I kind of prefer the D8 grille. It's because it looks like the 405 one, and I looooovveeee 405s! They are so comfortable. Much more so than 406's. Just reminds me of them. :)

Can't imagine a grille costing much from a breakers yard - and it wouldn't be too hard to get hold of either I imagine if they're not colour coded...
