I've owned two 406 coupes previously (both Autos, first a 2.0 litre then a 3.0 V6) but may be I am asking too much to get a low mileage Auto in one of the colours I like. They say that colour should not be on the list when buying a second hand car but I am an idealist and struggle to make compromises!! The car in Swansea (2000 X 3.0 V6 Coupe Auto with about 64,500 miles on the clock) is not in one of my favourite colours even though the 406 coupe is so beautiful it could look good in almost any colour; but is so attractive because of the mileage and condition. Swansea is about 5 hours from where I live in Huddersfield so it is almost too far to go to have a casual look. Nearer to me there is a silver car on ebay which has done 108 000 miles but I worry about reliability and expenses. The way I see it, I have two choices. (1) Go for the Swansea car and accept it is not in one of my favourite colours. (2) Hold on till something more desirable hopefully comes up for sale. But as Autos are rare I worry about this.
