Just need the final piece of the puzzle now to complete my cruise control retrofit, as title states I need the stalk and lower steering wheel cowl if anyone has one, it's for a 2001 diesel estate, 90hp.

The lower cowl that comes with the car might have a slight outline on it where the opening should be and can be cut off to create the opening. That's what I did on mine, followed the outline and made the opening.
Newer stalks from 307 etc are also told to be suitable with the 406.
EDIT: Just realised yours is 2001 and must be a semi mux? Then the stalk will be different. It might be different with the lower cowl as well. Mine is a 2003.

Thanks for that, I have looked at my cowl and I can cut it out, I just really need the stalk. I have found one for an early petrol 406 coupe, it looks similar but I can't get a definitive answer as to whether it's suitable for mine, the seller is not really helping either, I just need a part number or some better pictures.

My bro has a 'new' 53-plate 110 exec estate and the possibility of harvesting bits from his 2.2 exec that's lying in a field in France......

I'm in Somerset. I have seen that on eBay but he won't send me any better pictures of the wiring or the part number label so I don't know for sure if it will fit, there is a good chance it will because it has the 5 pin plug on the end, what do you think?
