Must be getting near Chrimbo.
Steve earwig is using a Mini 0801, the 0801s is on Ebay 'UK stock'(NOT) for £53
Can anyone else make any personal recommendations?
It must have auto-on & over-write. Not much use otherwise.
Thank you kindly

Re: Dashcam recomendations
The 0801 is ancient (comparatively) now but It does the job, I don't know what sort of improvements the later ones have, although I did notice some of them have teething troubles when first introduced.
All dash cams should do the overwrite thing and the auto on, unless you get what is basically an action cam.
There are probably quite a few sites like this now but the main one I looked at before buying was dashcamtalk.com

Re: Dashcam recomendations
At the end of July, a kid of 17 on a scooter shot straight across my path in the middle of a roundabout. He went down,
and sustained cuts on elbow, and ankle. Lucky for him that I was only doing about 20mph.
A few days later, I bought one of these, £10 at the time, on eBay. Quality is dire.
The only good thing to say is that you can see generally what happened in an incident.

Next, I bought one of these.

That is the cheapest Nextbase dash cam, normally £50 in Halfords. It's 720p, and the video quality is very acceptable, and build
quality excellent. The reason for the cheap price is because it's a grade B, works perfectly, and supposedly has slight marks. I couldn't
see any marks on mine. It looked, felt, and worked like new. That seller is, I'm 99% certain, the returns department of Nextbase.
However, I was feeling a bit paranoid at the time, and decided to buy one of the other dash cams from that Nextbase seller.
I went for this, a full GPS jobbie that shows a continuous recording of the route, and speed. Works fine, and very good quality.

The above is a Grade A. The one I bought was supposedly a Grade B, and cost £49.95. Like the 112, it looked like new.
The £10 cam, I returned to the seller on the basis that it was not as described. 1080 nowhere to be found on the device menu.
And I added a 16Gb SD memory card to the Nextbase 112, and sold that back on to eBay for £15 more than I paid for it.

Re: Dashcam recomendations
Thanks for that, £74 for a grade A, or £88 for a new boxed one from UK stock (with a UK address & phone No.)
None include the hardwire kit, but I'm wondering what you get with the hardwire kit that you don't cut by cutting the cigarette lighter plug off and finding a switched feed?
