Maybe a little bit....

I would rather buy a V6 conversion in a Peugeot 309 or something like that, for half of what this buyer is hoping for..

Deluded I'd say
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Peter, if it's the silver one I've just looked at, it's only done 67k is very, very tidy with all the right parts
Currently at £720.00 with 9 days to go, bet it makes 2k

I'd love it, but there's too much to be done to my estate to make it worth selling after all the work,
But I'd get next to nothing for it with the head gasket gone
Plus I treated myself to the coupe last year & the wife would kick me out if I bought another car

I like the performance, my son has a 2.2 Coupe but I am not so keen on the engine, I had one in a C5 and the fuel consumption was dreadful, although my lads is very good. I like the 2.0. because its fairly simple and seems to last forever.

Vintage is the new posh. I just spend over 500 Sovs on a 20 year old amp (a nice one but still) and looking to invest* another 150-200 for a gramophone.

He just says 2 litres, the 2095 I got using the numberplate on the AA's website checking for MOT history. Ok, the seller might be living on planet Banana but i expected better from Alcoholics Anonymous...

Funnily enough, and picking up on Captain's point; old stuff IS better and that's a fact.

Case in point is our 18 year old 'Henry' Hoover which has been relegated to Vehicular vacuuming duties but it still works perfect and more importantly feels sturdy and well-made. Fast-forward to the weekend just gone and I was having a quick butchers at a sparkly new 67-plate Henry and oh my what a cheap ass horrid flimsy shitty thing it was. Do not want.

Just about anything 'new' after 2008 is cheaply-made shyte, unless you're prepared to buy some expensively-priced shyte for the sake of its name.

Nothing's made to last any more, especially not cars, but that's the (ahem) price we pay for stuff being cheap.
