The Plastic Pug Passport thingy....vital?

Post by Maranman »

Hi all, advice please

I bought my car from Ebay and then it fell to bits  (the whole gruesome story with costs will be told another time)
Then I bought a Haynes and I also read the manual that came with the car.

Both said that I need the passport, in fact they say "don't buy a pug without one" !!!

The guy I bought the car from has failed to respond to a polite request.

Just how important is it :?:
What info does it hold :?:
Can I live without it :?:
Should I report him to Ebay (as a last resort, of course) I have yet to leave feedback :!:
Should I fall on my torque wrench for not asking for it :cheesy:

Cheers
Graeme

The passport? I'm assuming that this is the card with the key references on it, if so, I never go mine and they're often lost.

But of course, it could be something else?

Me not got one either, I also think it's to do with the keys codes, maybe immobiliser :?

Now, how about that gruesome story?

My 15 months of ownership has not been that nice for me either :|

I never got my keycode card either. Peugeot dealer wants £44 in order for them to issue me with a new card with my number on, or £26 just to give me the number.

I think i'll live without it, because if they need to do any work on the car they can find the number anyway.

What a rip.

When I bought my 406 I was unaware of the same until I also read the owners manual, I dont think people realise

Pris. :cheesy:

We got the 206cc from a peugeot dealer and the coupe from an independant. Neother came with the passport, so don't listen to the scare mongering.

Ironically, my last 406 was at the time a 3 year old with 130,000 on the clock, and that came with the card. Never needed it though.

My payday's Monday, my bank account is well under, and I have 27 litres of fuel in the tank and I'm going to pay the car park bloke in coppers on Friday. Eek. Not nice to think I'm going to be pushing the car home if I don't average 41mpg over the next 2 days! Please don't let it rain - I need the economy!!!

I love the week before payday, don't you?
