Why TF do they do that???  Seems to be the case everywhere these days. They've just fitted part time lights on a roundabout that I have to negotiate on the way to work. Made the traffic significantly worse during the rush hours  . My absolute favorite bit though is that some days I need to turn right at that roundabout, and the lights now make you stop on the roundabout itself, so if you are the 5th car you've stopped with your arse sticking out into the lane where people are still going straight through at 40mph, really nice!

D'you know, they put these lights up ages ago, gotta be at least a year, but the first time they tried them they realised they just made things worse, so they covered them up and let people carry on as before. Couple of months later they did another trial, with exactly the same results. Now they've just switched them on and walked away, I reckon someone's job must have been on the line, spending all that money that wasn't being used. Not only are they making the traffic situation worse but it's downright dangerous. I wonder how many accidents there'll be before the monkeys realise this

i assume your talking about the abercynon roundabout dai ? since the lights have been turned on the traffic is a nightmare from ALL directions especially if you coming from cardiff direction anytime between 3 and 6 pm  , i take the exit just before the services and come out on fiddlers elbow , saves loads of time :cheesy:

So do I, always have done, but even that's alot slower now because more people are using it to avoid the lights, and sometimes the stuff coming from Nelson is queueing right accross the bridge and blocking the roundabout at fiddlers elbow!!! So then I take my time and come all the way up the old road 8)

The best part is the gap between the first 2 sets of lights is literally only just big enough for 2 cars! I'm being serious!

Goddamn nobends!

Thing is, that junction used to be a great way for me to get on and off the A500. Now I join everyone else in a 15+ minute queue up residential streets because it's quicker than their £40 million waste of time!
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
