On a slightly selfish note - Surely that 406 should be worth more than 2K?

I paid £3,300.00 for mine 15 months ago and its only a 1999 T plater

If I factor in the depreciation now, and the huge repairs (nearly £1,000.00) I feel sick, excuse me......................

Welton I paid the same £3.3k for mine 15 mths ago. Most near me were going for £5k+, but I spotted mine on Autotrader 100 miles away.

I was expecting more than £2k, but nevermind if it goes it goes. Mine aint cost me much, just a set of tyres and Crankshaft Pulley.

Well yours is 2 years younger than mine so someone else will get all the 'fun' I had with repairs. :|

Thats 1 of the reasons I'm wanting to sell it, I just cant afford £1k for repairs it may or may not need in the future.

At the time of buying mine, I thought the new the car the better, but I've learned that just aint he case.
Newer the car the more expensive it is to repair, and more things go wrong on newer cars.
They just aren't built to last anymore. I have an 18 year old Sierra that is almost mint underneath.

Finally had a response from the buyer, after I sent him an Invoice:
thank you for your message.i like your car and i want to fenish transaction .there is smal problem description proper it's about road tax when i bid to buy it with r tax now if you want to help me to give some discount to by r tax i don't have good income
Told him the add was clear that they was no Tax with the car. Told him he was getting a lot of car for £2k and that I really wanted £3k for it, but as I didn't put in a Reserve Price I am legally bound to sell him the car for £2k, just like he is legally bound to buy it for £2k.

He then asks if I would deliver it to LONDON as its quite a way for him to travel.
Same f*cking distance for me to travel daft twat, and told him NO, Collection ONLY and payment 1st in CASH POUNDS. :cheesy:

Just waiting on him getting back to me.

I just tried to chop mine in against our new 107 Sport XS, so i know what the stealers give. They offered 1400, but went to 1600 after I grumbled. Sold it to the husband of a girl at work for £2400, so was worth the effort of a private sale.

I bet that guy aint English. A mate of mine sold his Vectra on ebay and he got a bit of hassle from his buyer and he turned out to be Polish. Just a bit of a warning for ya.

Surely the 406 is worth more?

*cries*

It's getting to the stage now where they're not 'worth' selling - you may as well get your use out of them, and if it's a D9 put up will all it's quirks :|

WOW 4 pages of me selling a car, didn't think ppl would be that interested.

Aye Welton its shame to let it go so cheaply but I need cash for other "things" and I'm quite happy with the 18yr old Sierra I have atm.

Its in Ad Trader for £2,500 and got a few ppl seeing it later, also got a Dealer on ebay asking about a Buy It Now Price.

To buy it at a Dealers would be about £3,000 - £3,500

but that's the gamble we take when we buy any used car, and is why they are cheaper than their new brethren.
