Just an unusual query...Have a 1996 406 executive with the cassette player, steering controls and a boot changer. Now occaisonally (and I mean it happened 4 times on a 5 hour journey) the cassette player turns itself off...If you hit on again it just says code for a second and then carries on as it was! Any ideas what be causing it to turn off?
Next question...Does the changer like copied cd's or is it shagged? I brought a couple homemade cd-r's with me and it recognises 3 out of the 6 and takes ages to load. When it does play them, if I skip a track it will freeze for ages!!! Any ideas? Are these chnagers easy to strip down to clean? i reckon dust could be an issue!!!
Any advice greatly appreciated!
Radio turning itself off?

Well the cassette problem could be a loose connection from the ignition 12V supply. Probably worth pulling it out to see if the plugs are together correctly.
As for the CD changer, I would try running a lense cleaner through it. If not, you could always strip it and give the lense a good wipe with some alcohol on a cotton bud. Not sure how easy they are to dismantle though.
