RC lock/unlock
Hi. It seems RC lock is not working when engine is working. I guess it is for security reasons (assumes alarm/immobilizer is on when locked). Is it possible to allow RC lock? I want to lock the car while waiting to warm up in snow days. The keyhole may freeze and I don't want to use the key.

I would say it is not advisable to leave the car with the engine running and is probably against the law in the UK
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)

Re: RC lock/unlock
I'm not sure if it would make a difference if it was locked but my mate got nicked when he left his car running while he popped into a newsagents to buy a paper. I think that's pretty standard, the remote locks don't even work on the Toyotter if the other key's just in the ignition lock. You can lock it with the key and hope you've pumped enough WD etc. into the barrel to stop it freezing (at least you've got at least 1 more to try, unlike the Otter...) Don't know about disabling this "feature", there might be something about it on PP2K, otherwise you'd need to find a way of convincing the BSI that the engine isn't running...

Re: RC lock/unlock
Well guy's just to counter your experience & argument
Both my Coupes, my 406 estate & my BMW 5 series e61 all locked remotely with my spare keys
with the engines running.
Yes I've done it for year's, fifteen + go out in the frosty morning, open car, start, put on blower & rear screen
Lock the car using spare key
, go back in the house & have a cuppa while looking out the window.
Go out to car after 5-10 mins all defrosted & oil & engine starting to heat cycle without any undue stress
& drive to work.
No issue's ever from the old bill or tea leaves
but we do live in a low crime area
Que my car getting nickec next time
