Hey I have a peugoet 406 2.0hdi 2003. I just changed the head gasket but when I was finished I tried to start the car but the diesel pump won’t pump the diesel forward so I opened the tank to check if the pump was broken but the pump doesn’t sit in the tank it is only two wires going to the fuel gauge and a filter but where is the pump and do anyone have a good tips to make the car start again
Sorry for my bad English

Re: Diesel pump
Hello, there's nothing wrong with your English
I think this really is an HDi 90 with the Siemens HP pump and no LP/lift pump in the tank. You should have a hand pump near the engine (looks like a hand grenade) which you need to use to prime the system. I think you need to pump it until it goes hard ( ) and then try to start the car.
