Whats the best place to get the little replacement odds and sods like nuts and bolts for the 406?
you know the sort of thing,,,Haynes manual says 'discard nut, a new one will be required upon refitting' alot of the time you can get around this but when the nyloc nuts, sump plug washers etc just get too crap to consider putting back on the car, where does everyone buy these little bits?

Assumptions are the mother of all F**k ups.
I usually goto all sorts of places from B & Q to the local motor factors depending on what I need. Ebay is sometimes helpful. Generally if what you're after is vehicle specific then I suppose the stealers would the place. I see you're based in Bristol, try doing a search on google and yell for Peugeot "spares" or "specialists", you might be surprised.
cheers for that I'll have a look see what I find
yes some of the stuff is car specific like I'm after new front swivel hub suspension clamp bolts, bit of a mouthful basically just the bolt that clamps the bottom a front suspension strut into the swivel hub the ones on their keep working loose causing knocking.
also would an un-balanced wheel cause the wheel bolts to work slightly loose?

I would say yes because, when driving at speed, an un-balanced wheel would cause vibration, so this may affect the bolts. Try and search for a Peugeot breakers yard nearby, you can always pickup some cheap bits and bobs from those places. Just be sure to take some tools with you to take off anything you need.tux2006 wrote:also would an un-balanced wheel cause the wheel bolts to work slightly loose?
