There is a light knocking coming from the front off-side of my car when I travel over uneven ground. I've replaced the lower rear engine mount and anti-roll bar link - both very worn, but the noise is still there. The balljoint and bushes on the lower suspension arm seem ok and there is no play in the track rod end. Any thoughts / comments appreciated
Thanks

Hello Dave,
Check the strut top bushes.
Jack the offending wheel off of the ground and give it a boot with your hand on the strut top bush. If you feel it rattle it's busted.
No doubt there's a more scientific way of doing it but it worked for me.
Check also that the tailpipe clears the heatshield all the way along too, it might rattle otherwise.
Cheers
Steve

Steve,
Jacked up wheel and gave it a boot with hand on top of strut but no rattle and very little movement. Re-checked lower suspension arm at same time and now think it may be rear bush on arm. Haynes Manual talks about hydraulic press, bearing puller and leaving it to Main Dealer but it doesn't look that difficult. Have you ever changed one?
Thanks for advice.
