OH GOODY!!!!! when out tonight started the car and that ticking noise i talked about seemed a little louder got to the shop about 2 miles away and it had somewhat DEVELOPED!!!!! instantly knew what the problem was after reading this thread CRANKSHAFT PULLEY infact i think itd read this thread itself and come out in sympathy for yours welts!!!! in which case any donations are gratefully received!!!!!! anyway down to the local main stealers in the morn to empty my wallet, just been looking on ebay and the ones there advertising are also the 3 slotted type but dare not buy other than genuine now plus havnt got time to wait for it,dont you just love peugeots

Oh dear dervy!

Does the noise rise and fall with revs around the 2000 mark? a nasty metalic sound?

I can't comment on the ebay ones but I was happy to get a 'proper' one from the dealer (even if it is one and the same item) but how do you know what you're getting otherwise?

job done!! took the day off work stripped it down and thought id got lucky when i removed the wheel arch liner the mounting bolt for tha air con pump had worked loose and was rubbing on the alternator belt,but then checked bottom pulley and discovered quite a bit of play so took it off and discovered it was knackered!!! so down to the main stealers,£150 later new pulley and belt,the original unmodified pulleys were about £45!!!! anyway all back together now and while i was on the job the parcel man turned up with me rear track arms i ordered off ebay so did them as well good days work me thinks!!!!!

yeah its a lot better now,not much too it really nothing too technical i can assure you if i can do it anyone can im no einstein!!! anyway was chuffed till me cd changer threw a wobbler you seen my thread on the ice forum?
