Pugs in the USA...

Post by maglite »

Hello from across the pond! Yes I'm in NY. I have been here for a couple of days now and still haven't spotted a single pug. It's a shame really, because, every car I've sat in over here is an auto. What is it with yanks and autos?

I'd love to just drive around here in one of my 6's because nobody else has one. Actually no, because I would probably get hit by a soccer mom in a SUV. The price of the fuel here is less than half that of the UK. It's a bit stupid really because all I see is Hummer's and bigass 4x4's that do 12mpg.. It should be the US with the high fuel prices! Not the UK :x

I have seen a few Gatso's here, but no speed trap warning signs! unless someone nicked them.. Come to think of it, a Diesel here is as rare as a Ford Cortina Mk5..

Hello fella 8)

Peugeots, or any french car for that matter are NOT popular with Americans.

They like there own 'Gas Guzzlers' and then Japanese cars and that's it.

Enjoy your stay, and tell everyone that you live in a 17th century stone cottage with 'Beams' and they will love you for it. And you live next door to a 'Pub' and drink Bitter (how quaint) :cheesy:

Don't forget to say that you know the Queen personally.

No, trust me, you will not find pugs in the usa...I wish I could take mine back with me when I get reassigned. Don't worry gents, I despise the SUVs and Hummers too. My country is wrecking the oil situation.

The Americans I know are constantly whinging about the high price they have to pay for "gas"... At under half the cost of what we pay you can imagine how much sympathy I have for them :D
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

I am off to NY in 2 weeks. We are renting a car when we go to Hamptons, but having looked on some car rental sites, it looks like for a humane price we'll get some poxy Chevy Impala or some other crap like that.... with an auto box. I HATE auto boxes... I'd rather walk... In fact... I probably will!
