How much £££££???

Post by Benner »

Hi all.

I am having some trouble in selling my beloved 406 (maybe its a sign!! :cheesy: )

How much would you expect me to get for this;

1996 PEUGEOT 406 1.8 LX 4dr [AC] Saloon

Manual, Metallic green. Petrol. MOT till Nov 07 and Taxed till the end of May 07. FSH and last serviced in April 07. Cambelt, front brake pads, discs,hoses and rear exhaust all changed last month, to the cost of £600. 114k miles, however previous owner had new engine fitted by Peugeot at 42k. Efw, pas, remote central locking, keypad immobiliser + air conditioning. Full set of bridgestone tyres fitted Nov 06. Genuine Peugeot rear blinds, including side windows and rear window, and boot tray. This car is completely standard and has been maintained regardless of cost. Comes with a folder of old receipts and MOT's. VGC

Have a look on autotrader.co.uk to see what similar cars are selling for near you. Yours looks like a tasty machine.

It is tasty and I dont want to just give it away.

Someone must have an idea? Or does anyone actually want it?

Think they were £39 for the pair from Planet Peugeot Parts.

If I were you I'd just buy a nice green D8 with them already in :cheesy:

I've never lsitened to parkers. I've seen cars both well overpriced and well underpriced. A few years ago, I had a Volvo 440. Parkers reckoned I could get £!200 for it. I ended up dselling it for £500.

Like I say, other times, they totally underestimate.

A car is worth what someone's willing to pay for it. Have a look at the market, that's the best guide you can get.

I've looked on Autotrader and you can get for £400-£700+.
I think it just depends on your area. Try ebay if ur desperate for a quick sale.

I paid £850 for a 1999 T reg model with 12 mths MOT and 84200 on the clock, last wednesday. Looking at your car I would expect £600 to be about the right price. Wish I had seen yours first!!
