Everything is in, everything is connected...Just needs gearbox oil to go in, the 2 steering arm bolts put on (forgot to buy new!) Coolant put in and I need to fix a diesel leak and I will be starting her up.

Got the battery back on and all electrics are working (glowplugs go out really quick now I have new on and the immobiliser is disarming off the remote locking....Bizarre but I like it :)

Hopefully it will start tomorrow....One question - on teh fuel filter housing (black thingy with plugs in it) Is there a sealing rubber or something? I removed the whole housing as the one on the new engine was damaged but now when I hand pumped the diesel pressure up, diesel pisse dout between the black housing and the silver thermostat housing. I'm guessing there must be a rubber ring that I have either omitted to fit or the one on there is damaged. Can anyone confirm? I will also tighten the 13mm bolt that holds it on.

Excited about tomorrow now!!!!

She lives mwhahahahahahahaha!!!!
Started her up and she came to life straight away (albeit at a 2000 rev idle!!!). Adjusted the throttle cable and all is good :)

The cooling system needs bleeding though as the heater didn't seem too hot and the fan came on a couple times befor ethe engine had even reached 70C. Once it was warmed to that i switched off, and then tomrorow I will check the levels (now the oil ahs moved about) And also bleed the cooling system. Anyone got a comprehensive guide? Haynes is stupid as I bled as much as I could with a header tank and bleed caps open. Started up and when I opened the bleed valves to let out extra air, I had a stream of water shoot up!!!!!

Anyway it is good to see the engine running on the car finally (well at least runnign and not overpressurising!)

I guide to bleeding would be good though! Oh I filled the gearbox oil up and coz I was on a slight angle (the drive is sloped down so with the front jacked up it is almost level but not) I let it get till I had overfilled and let it run off. When the flow slowed a bit I redid the valve up so there was a little too much but I'm guessing that will compensate the angle. When I opened it I had some run out so the angle must make a difference.

Anyway I am chuffed. I will update tomorrow when I get it down off the axel stands and checked all the levels :)
