the pump is the compressor, the condenser is the radiator at the front of the car

A broken spring is common on any car on the rear, for 5 years old. And the air bag light on the Compact is the seat occupancy sensor (£47.00).jameslxdt wrote: BMW's are good untill servicing is ignored, older models are the best i.e. E30 3 series but they still have problems, my sister has a 2002 325ti compact, thats had a broken rear coil spring, airbag light on all the time, the newer ones are much worse
My missus E36 tds has cost zero to run this year, oh sorry - a 50p bulb I forgot, naughty car.

Cheers puggy, I know where you mean now. That's the high pressure one and it's failed where the clip supports the pipe.
That must be very recent because that green ooge don't stay around long.
Bit of a crap job to replace though because there's a sh*t load of stuff in the way
Here's my leaking condenser last year.

*goes off to check pipes*

Yes welly crap job cos they go under the battery tray and behind the servo..
priced the parts at the stealers ... pipes £58 .. re-charge £65 asked how much
they will charge to do it ... £293 and that includes the pipes the re-charge and vat
so letting them do it just waiting for pipes to arrive...

I've just checked mine and it's ok (for now) I might load it with silicone spray grease. I suppose water gets trapped in the rubber lined clip and corrodes the aluminuim pipe.
I bet this is why your intercooler hose blew, because it got covered in refrigerant oil.
