Oh and a new seal from peugeot fixed the leaking housing. Turns out I had put 2 seals on by accident in the first place :P

All running and drives great!

One problem....One of the wheelbolts snapped off!!!! How gay is that? I don't know what to do- there is no where to grip it to get it out as it has snapped off right in the disc. Are the bolts threaded through the discs? I may smash the disc with a lump hammer if it will leave a stub I can get grips on.

Dunno though... Any ideas? I'm guessing driving on 3, very well tightened bolts isn't too safe eh?

Just removed the suspension strut again. My mechanic is going to take it into work and get teh old stud out if he can. Fingers crossed. Other than that all I need to do is fix a small leak at the bottom radiator hose and jobs a good en' :)

Well it is sorted...Sort of. The remains of the nut were remove dby my mechanic so I got it all back together...Aprt fromk the water leak. Turns out the bottom conrad seal is not sealing to the new radiator well. I have a new rubber seal but the lip of the conrad connection has corroded a bit meaning that it lets water out. I am goign to ring teh scrapyard tomorrow to see if they have a 406 or xantia with the conrad connection (I will just cut the connection off and re attach it to my existing pipe with the use of a bit of SS pipe). Otherwise I will just bung a load load of silicone sealant around the lip and push it in place. When it dries should create a good seal.

did you just swap the pumps over then or bypass the immobiliser?
if you swapped the pumps have you had the timing checked?

you should have removed the stop solenoid sheild while the pump was of then you could have turned the fueling up and then it would have made it alot faster

Lol. TBH I'm happy as it is. Do you reckon a good sealant coating on the outside of the conrad connection of the bottom hose will seal the join?

its unlikely, ive got the same leak from my thermostat housing, silicone sealant wont do much as these conections move arround alot when you drive, peugeot recommend Loctite Gold something, im not sure of the name of it exactly, where liquid gasket is needed its very good stuff

Well I just packed the joint with sealant in the end and then spread a good layer around the joint (ove rthe radiator and the outside of the pipe. Hopefully it will hold ok. It wasn't cheap sealant so it should be good and the pipe doesn't really move now I have put the holding screw back in place. If it leaks again I will get a second hand conrad fitting from soemwhere (in fact will keep a look out tomorrow).

I have to go to a dealer about 30 miles away to get a wheel bolt tomorrow morning so will enquire About the price of teh whole lower pipe. will also pick up a few choice bits I need as spares (seals ect!).

Got to get the car ready as I have to go to london on sunday morning

Well after 500 miles of driving it's still going strong. Car seems great only... It seems to get a bit hot in traffic. When driving at constant speeds the car normally sits around 85C but if I get stuck in traffic it will creep up to 100C and then even up to 105C if I get stuck in real bad traffic. I hear the fan coming on but it doesn't seem to do much as in it comes on for about 20 secs the temp hardly changes but it turns off again.
Once I start driving again though, it will drop back down again.

Really bizarre!

Also the brakes seem a bit spongy. If I pump them when idling, they get nice and firm and work really well but if I rev after pumping them stiff they go all spongy again. Basically when I come to a junction, the brakes are ok if not a bit week but if I dip the clutch and double pump the brakes they are great. Then as soon as I get in gear and rev they go spongy again. What do you reckon it could be? Anyone?
