I was fitting a upper mount to a 306 so jacked the engine upwards. In doing so the feed pipe to the power steering pump pushed against a radiator pipe. This radiator pipe broke off the radiator. The plastic broke in 2. And all the coolant poured out.
If i were to silicon the plastic part back on, and give it plenty of time to dry, would it hold?
The car is for sale and i dont want to have to fit another radiator. I just want rid of the car now!
Try Evo-stik Hard Plastic adhesive. I've used it many times with good results (and a few times which didn't!) It comes in a small super-glue sized tube, but you only need a few drops. Says it works with PVC, ABS and acrylic.
I used 'U-pol PlastX' plastic glue/weld type stuff. It seems to be ultra strong, i'm banging some rad-weld type stuff into the radiator as well just incase i didnt get a perfect seal.
The Upol stuff is supposed to be used on bodywork, so i may even use it on my bumper!
