whats your opinion of the armrest? i see you can get them new from puggy for about £70 i just wondered if it was worth that kind of money??

anybody know what the yellow block connectors are for on the side of the gear lever in blues pic i ordered myself a non smoking kit and was just having a look how to get it out before it comes and was just curious what the connectors for??

just got my non smoking kit today and upon fitting tonight noticed that the bulb in the ashtray had melted the plastic a little surrounding its holder anyway when i fitted the kit then went down the shops i noticed just how hot the bulb gets,a tad worrying!!! :|

ALL incandescent bulbs get extremely hot - it's how they work, by heating a filament until it gets white hot...

Ever touched a household light bulb that's been dimmed *really dim* using a dimmer switch for a few minutes? Yup, still too hot to touch.

even so if its melted the plastic housing that shouldnt be right should it?

Depends if it's touching the plastic or not. If it's properly in the housing, it should be a good few mm from the plastic and shouldn't melt it. It wouldn't surprise me if it melted something it touched though.

I can't really decide whether or not I like this mod...
A part of me wants to buy one myself, and mod in a ipod-holder or something inside ;).

But a part of me also loves the way the original setup looks...

I am a non-smoker myself. And I never let anybody smoke in my car anyways so I guess I wouldn't miss the ashtray...

Or you could go to your dealer, ask for part number 7588FE and hand over a ludicrous £87.37 for the walnut ashtray!!!
