Head gasket gone - how to get head off

Post by paul r »

Hi,

Hopefully someone can help. I have a 1.9TD pug406 with a blown head gasket. Now i've replaced head gaskets on other cars but this one seems impossible.

OK, I've got the haynes manual - which seems pretty crap. I've just ordered a pug service manual on CD off of ebay - hopefull that will be better.

Is there a trick for getting to the manifold bolts and the vacuum hoses on the turbo? just enough room to get my hand up there and i cant even get to the outlet vacuum hose off the turbo.......

Even better has anyone got instructions on how to get the head off with pics?

Someone please help? I refuse to be beaten by this car!!

Cheers,

Paul.

Hi,

All i want is to get the car running for a few months - so changing the engine isnt an option......

Just a cheap head gasket and bobs ya uncle. Anyone know if the head bolts are re-usable or stretch?

Cheers,

Paul.
